Christmas madness!

Phew! Another Christmas Day is done. Hope yours was as nice as ours. We had a Christmas Eve party at Hubby's aunt's house, then spent the night at MIL's. Santa found us, and boy he was pretty good to us, too.

I got knitting things (of course). I really wanted some knitting books, though, and when all the gifts were opened, I didn't have any! Hubby said "Isn't there another gift?" to his mom and she's like "yep, look behind the tree". She got me Mason-Dixon Knitting, and Socks Soar on Two Circulars, and a knitting dvd! I thought I was just getting an anklette (beautiful as it is) from her. I really get more excited about knitting books than jewelry? Yep!!

The only gifts that come close to the knitting gifts are the great flannel jammies hubby got me. I love flannel jammies, and I got 2 new pair! He also tricked me with one gift. I always get a set of Charmed dvds on the holidays. I picked that gift up first, because I knew what it was, and he took it away, and said to open it last. ??? So, I got to it, and it was the first season of the Gilmore Girls! I love the GG's and Charmed! Great shows.

So, after cleaning up the paper mess, I casted on with some of my pretty new wool. I knitted a sock for a bar of soap and left it for MIL. The blue/turquoise soap sock is the one I made for MIL. The brown/pink/red one is the first one I ever made, with the left over SWS and Paton's Merino. I had a pic of them here, but blogger is doing it again! I can't get it to show! I'll post it soon. Really!

Since I am such a camera hog, there are almost no pictures of me at all! I did take videos of the kids opening presents. They're so funny!

When we got home, we all played Guitar Hero II, and SingStar on the PSII. I got videos of Hubby beating SP on SingStar, but on Guitar Hero, SP rocks! He was standing on his one good foot, but I made him sit. LD wanted to do the song Paint It Black over and over and over!

We had tons of fun, but I definitely ate way too much junk, and the house is seriously trashed! My stomach is feeling very yucky, and all the sugar I ingested did not do me any good! We still have one more Christmas celebration, on New Year's Eve. I should probably try to eat a little healthier at that one!

I swore I wasn't going to Traffic City, where we do our shopping, until after the new year, but the boys each have gift cards for the mall, so I don't see how I am going to be able to avoid it.

I am going to go try to make that picture show up!

I hope everyone's holidays were bright and the new year is great for all!

Happy Holidays! M/D Knitting is great and so is the Socks booklet. My youngest niece has become addicted to Charmed and her family got her 6 seasons, I think! We had a present orgy around here too, I think I need a rest!

It's kadiddly. For some reason I can't use Blogger very well on this computer. I think it's a cookie issue.

Anyway, I love the pics Blogger finally let you get up! Huzzah for flannel jammies and knitting books!! And now you have tv to watch while knitting, too!!

BTW, my house was, and still is, totally trashed by the Christmas Chaos. Time to roll up the sleeves...

It certainly sounds like you had the best time, knitting gifts ,wow,I could drop hints until the cows come home and they still wouldn't get it, so I snuck off and bought some for myself!
My Fav gift this year was a gorgeous little cross that one of my boys had seen me checking out in the shop window!
All the boys had their money sorted and as there are so many of them,we do a name out of the hat job so that they only had to buy for one(this is outside the normal gifts from Mum and Dad) The son who went shopping for me is particularly good at budgeting so all in all it was great to see their shopping efforts!
As for Deborah finding Makeup! I had three bottles of booze one year! And some horrible coloured nailvarnish that H let the kids pick!Lets say I was not inpressed and have learnt to hold "a poker face"
