Thanks to everyone who is thinking of SP and his broken ankle. I guess the surgery will be on Friday, so please keep us in your thoughts, and prayers if you pray. We're waiting for the Dr. to call with specifics. I hate waiting.
Thanks for the compliments on the mittens, too. LD has been wearing them, even though it's been in the 40s and 50s. I am loving this weather. I know it'll come to an end soon. :( Michigan is never this warm.

Here's a little yarny picture. This is the pinwheel blankie for the new baby girl who is coming in a few months. I am up to 520 stitches. The rounds go faster than you'd think, though. That's my mitten up there, too. See my hand dyed wool? Mmm. Let me tell ya, that is some yummy stuff! Yep, orange is my favorite color. I like orange with pink, too.
My knitting class was fun yesterday. Only a couple of the kids didn't know how to do the knit stitch. I was thinking about doing a gauge swatch with them, but with such short classes we're just going to learn some basics and have fun. I have written some really simple patterns for the kids classes that they love, but I have to rewrite them to match the yarn and needles sizes I was able to get. I usually use worsted weight yarn doubled and size 10 1/2 needles. That way they finish a project really fast. I could only find size 8 and 9 needles, though, so it's regular worsted weight yarn, instead of doubled. I taught them a knit on cast on, and they all did it, and took off knitting for practice. It's all girls this time, and I have 9 students. My helper wasn't able to come, but we did fine.
One little girl said "So, do you just sit and do this all day? Cuz I know you don't have a real job." Ouch! I know she didn't mean anything by it, but she must have heard it from her parents. Right now, I don't know what I'd do if I had a real job. The worry, and stress from surgery and whatnot is driving me crazy as it is. I just laughed and said "I wish I could just knit all day" and changed the subject. Don't worry Carrie, you know it wasn't your daughter. hehe
We went to the community tree lighting last night. It was a small gathering, even though the weather was awesome! There was a very important sports thing going on, and a lot of people were at that. Which our team won! Yay!
One of my new little knitters came up to me as soon as we got there, to ask me a knitting question. I'm showing her the answer with my fingers, and no yarn. You should have seen hubby's face. It was so funny.
Cindy's little guy came up, without looking real close to my Hubby and said "Pick me up". He thought hubby was his dad. It has happened before. LD has done the same thing to Cindy's hubby, too. As I said before our hubbies are cousins, and they do look a bit alike. Hope he wasn't too embarrassed. His parents were right there, but a few people laughed, and I bet my kids would get a bit upset at being laughed at. We're working on that. I don't like being laughed at, and I think that has rubbed off on them. We need to believe the "laughing with not laughing at" thing.
g girl posted some darn cute pics of her new little niece, too. You should see 'em. What a little doll. She also posted a pic of the st. markers I sent her. I've been so busy I haven't put them in my shop, yet! I need to read blogs, too. So, if I am a usual commenter or lurker (which you wouldn't know anyway) on your blog. I'll be back!
I guess it's time to go wait. I hate waiting. I hope they call soon.
Knit On, Knitters. And send good vibes to us while you're doing it, pretty please!
