She'd better be careful, or she'll have to start another blog for it. LOL I am going to stick it in my sidebar, when I'm not so busy.Well, here's shawlly again. I have stuck a little pic of my cheater's lifeline in. Carrie really seemed to like the idea yesterday at our little knitting group.
Here's what I did. I threaded one row of stitches, Not the stitch markers, though, (Ergh! Yes, I did.) onto one of my knitpicks cords. I made a note to myself on what row and what repeat I put the lifeline in, so if (Lord ~ NO!) I have to rip, I can just screw the needles onto that cord, and redo.
I am on the seventh repeat of chart two. I am going to do it 10 times, then onto chart three. I am so in love with this pattern. The shawl is about 21 inches bigger than the last pic I posted. I can't wait to get done and see it all blocked out.
Well, another one of those crazy, busy days! Gotta run.

Lifelines aren't cheating - they're a perfectly acceptable means of preserving the majority of your work.
At least, that's what I have to convince myself of when I use them! (If I remember to - I generally forget to put one in until "Oh, &*%^! WHY didn't I put in a lifeline??)
I agree with kadiddly--lifelines aren't cheating..in fact, I think it's a sure sign of a smart knitter! Now if only I'd remember to use them myself. lol. your shawl keeps looking better and better! and the yarn...I should've made my thermal using that shade instead! oh yeah..I've nominated you for something on my blog...
That is going to be go pretty! Lifelines are seriously one of the greatest lessons I have learned. They have saved a dozen of my projects from being ripped down to nothing.
Your lifeline idea is BRILLIANT! What a way to use those KP needles. Your shawl is really coming along (unlike mine, LOL).
What a great idea to use the Options cord as your lifeline; it'll save that much more time if you have to rip since you won't have to transfer stitches from a string to needles. You are a genius!
Lifelines certainly aren't cheating...
I just finished my first shawl and wish I had done that. I had to completely frog and start over because I messed up the pattern.

That's a great idea for a life line. I usually use another piece of yarn.
It's looking great! I also use stitch markers between each repeat, no matter how small. I have no concentration (esp. with kids around). :)
