I started this poor shrug a few years ago! If that doesn't work for the UFO Along, I don't know what would! It is a one skein wonder with long sleeves. Apparently, I decided I didn't want to seam sleeves, and left it in a bag for a l-o-n-g time. I have decided that I must finish it before starting a lace shawl. There are some before and after shots. There's my little yarn ball winder helping, too.
My friend Carrie has chosen her shawl, and I think she got the yarn yesterday. I know she was patiently waiting. Yeah, patiently ~ hehe. I think I have found the shawl I want to do. I love this pattern. It's called the Sagittaria Shawl, and if anyone has knitted it and has advice please let me know! I have done lots of lace knitting, just no shawl lace knitting. ;)
I restarted my shrug, and it is a few inches long now. It is such an easy pattern, if I find some knitting time, it'll be done in a snap. Then, I am going to knit long sleeves on it (in the round!) I don't feel like seaming them up, and it's my knitting, so I can do it my way! LOL
I did finish another pair of booties and a little matching hat. Pics next time! Sorry my posting is so erratic. With the kids home for Summer, (and the rainy days we've been having) I haven't gotten this machine much!
Time to run! Hope everyone has enjoyed their week! I can't wait for the weekend, myself! :)

Stitchmarkers. They are absolutely the best thing to have when knitting lace. Mark every repeat if you have to, and be sure to count as you knit. Oh, and post it notes. Post its are life savers. lol I always mark the row I am on and write it down with the day and time if I have to leave it for a while. :) Hope this helps.
Ooo, that shawl is pretty! Can't wait to see it!
Thanks for the comments lately!
Oh, My Gosh, that shawl is GORGEOUS! I am so impressed! I might be a shawl convert after this summer. Whew! I'm going to go check out the one-skein wonders book, too. Sounds neat. (P.S. Also just plain old glad you posted - haha!)
I love froggies!! YAY!!
Yup, that's some UFO!! You can do it, i know you can!
Oh sure, link me to another shawl that i'm just going to HAVE to knit! Damn you! LOL!
That shawl is beautiful! That should be a fun project.
Good luck with the shrug this time around--I know what you mean about seaming.
Have fun knitting your shawl...after you finish the shrug, of course.
Love the froggies! Can't wait to see all of your finished projects in your next posts!! Hope you're enjoying your kids home :-) I always love the beginning of summer and the beginning of the new school year.. about equally! ;-)
love the froggies! can't wait to see your finished shrug!
Oh, those kind of frogs! And love that shawl!
I love the shawl! I've never knitted one, either. That would actually be a good project for me if I wanted to take a break from knitting baby stuff.
Can't wait to see the finished shrug! Sometimes it DOES help to put something away when it doesn't seem to be working. Later, when you come back to it, you are a little wiser, and aren't still harboring those negative feelings toward the project!
Great shawl! And perfect name. :)
cool frog effect. I think you've achieved a fair amount, esp. considering the kids are on break. Enjoy the summer too!
Procrastinating on seams? I feel ya!
I've avoided starting projects on account of seams. One day, I'll get over it.
Love the shawl. Also, branching out is a beautiful shawl and those colors are lovely.
Can someone still join the shawl along? I've been working on Gretchen for awhile now that new needles came. Ah.. summer. Isn't it lovely?
